Will I know how much everything costs before we start building?
Absolutely. Once your design is finalised, we’ll give you a fixed price contract with no hidden surprises. Everything is clearly outlined before we move into the build phase.
Do I need to have my section before I talk to you?
No – we can help you find land, or simply chat through your ideas so you’re ready when the time comes. We’re here to help, no matter what stage you’re at.
Can I bring my own plans?
Yes – if you already have something in mind, we can work with your existing plans or help you refine them to suit your site and budget.
What’s the difference between a designer and an architect – and who will design my home?
At Signature Homes, we use a mix of architectural designers and registered architects, depending on the needs of your project.
Architectural designers are experts in creating beautiful, functional homes that are designed to suit your site, lifestyle, and budget. They are Licensed Building Practitioners (LBPs) and are a perfect fit for most new home builds in New Zealand.
Architects are typically brought in for more complex or bespoke designs – for example, homes on tricky sites or highly customised builds. They’re formally registered and trained to manage more intricate design challenges.
We’ll recommend the best design partner for your specific project (whether that’s a designer or an architect) to ensure you get the right outcome, without overcomplicating or over-investing where it’s not needed.
